Prayer

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – A nationally-recognized Christian legal group has mailed letters to school districts throughout Tennessee in an effort to defend the practice of prayer at school football games.

LINCOLN, Nebraska – A Midwestern town that engages in football games against teams that still respect not only one another, but the God who gave them their talents and abilities, and are free to express their thanks publicly.  Of course today I am talking about two distinctly Christian schools.  Lincoln Christian and Lincoln Lutheran. If you didn't get to go to the annual "Battle of the Spirit Sword" football game last weekend when we played Lincoln Lutheran, then you missed something special.  Not the amazing tailgate fund-raiser before the game bringing two different schools together over food, not the camaraderie of the fans, not even the big win.  What was truly special was at the end.  When the stadium grows quiet as both teams kneel down together and give thanks to their Creator God.

We have much to be thankful for.
