Ready or Not

Ready or not, here it comes!  another school year - are you ready?

Since the last blog, our world has increased in turmoil, war and dysfunction.  Who would have thought it?

At reenrollment time in March we had strong numbers, 97% of our students returning and then slowly over the summer, some families decided to go a different direction.  My heart was heavy, and my mind racing to figure out what we need to do better.  I began pouring over all those books Rod gives the leadership team to read over the summer and began my "lists" of things to improve.

Then it dawned on me.  I Peter 5:8 reminds us to be on the alert, the adversary, the devil is prowling around like a roaring lion seeking someone to devour. You don't always recognize the methods he uses to devour them either, it's subtle, it's slow and he wants our "young".
The enemy wants nothing more than to divide families, take children away from Christ and what better way to accomplish that than to remove them from Godly teachers, families and friends and give in to them asking to go to public school.  After all, it's expensive to send your children to Christian school and is it worth giving up the Internet, gym membership, smart phones and vacations?  Only time will tell.

Trust me, this hits close to home as we allowed our oldest to leave LCS when she entered 8th grade and go to public school.  We had prayed with her over this for a couple of years before doing it.  I'm still not sure if that was what we should have done or not.  My personal advice to parents: please do not allow your children to make these decisions.  What is the Spirit telling you, the parent? Where do you see your child in 5 years down the road?  10 years down the road?   In what ways could withdrawing  from LCS affect them?  Our world is even in more turmoil than before, our days becoming uncertain.  It is well worth the sacrifice's that you make for your family to be at Lincoln Christian School.

If you don't already have "camel knees", Let's make this year of meaningful prayer. Prayer is essential in every area of life - He is our shield and our defender! Consider joining one of the Praying Moms groups at Lincoln Christian and go to battle for our students, staff and school together! (Email mayberrymiles@hotmail.com to find a group)  Let's be found "READY"!

From John 14, "Let not your heart be troubled: believe in God, believe also in me."
